Default "Trackball" Question???

Please Login to Remove!

Okay, so I am a 8700g user with T-MOBILE. I LOVE LOVE LOVE my 8700g and I also LOVE LOVE LOVE the trackwheel! It saddens me that RIM is only producing the trackball now on all of their new devices. Does anyone know if the Trackwheel is long gone and if they will ONLY produce berry's with the trackball from now until they come up with something else (touch screen , etc..)

Also, anyone who has went from the Trackwheel to the Trackball ...how do you feel about it? Is it easier? harder? Just from playing with the PEARL in stores the trackball felt extremely loose and "rolly" (if that's a word)...it just felt strange. Is it accurate?

I am looking to get the 8800 NOT the 8100 ...are the trackballs the same on both because I know I read somewhere that the trackball on the new 8300 is a bit different.

Please advise

The trackwheels are all the same on the 8100 and 8800. I also believe they are the same on the 8300.

My IQ has dropped ten points in this thread

IM speak

MFTP

I personally think the trackball is a huge advance. I could never go back to a trackwheel

I love the trackball much more than the trackwheel . I've only had an 8800 for a couple of weeks, but sure don't want to go back.

Hi NJ

Yes, made it home safely on the plane, no need to it.

Thanks for the shopping suggestion at MCO . Found good loot for the kiddies .

You'll never see a touch screen on a BB
Touch screens are crappy and not a good UI IMO

...and prone to failure. Thankfully RIM has some sense to keep them off their BB's.

I went from a 7100 to 7130 to 8100. I love the trackball and would never want to go back to the thumbwheel.
