Any suggestions FOR THE CURVE on how to get a dedicated SMS folder?

You mean the curve does not have this option like the 8800?

E-Mail Options (button to the left of the trackball, then options).
General Options
Last choice is "SMS and EMail Inbox."

.... I'm really not that smart, I just ran into that window about a minute before I checked this thread.
