I am going to get the curve when it comes out. Since it is lock to At&t and I have t mobile, will dealers who unlock the 8800 be able to unlock the 8300? Any one know where I can get it unlock.

i have used gsmphonesource.com and had good results. You might try them for the 8300.

ditto with the above site. I've unlocked about 10-15 phones through them and max turn around time has been under 24hrs. they can unlock this device as well.

I've heard that gsmphonsource can turn around an unlock code on an at&t branded device within a day.

Stay away from the O2's! lol

Do you know if he can for sure unlock an 8300 curve? I emailed him but not sure how long it'll take him to respond. Would be nice to buy the thing and be able to use it right away (assuming it gets into the stores tomorrow)... would suck to get it and then have to sit and stare at it lookin all prettylike for a while during the time it takes to get the unlock.

I know he can unlock an O2 one but it takes awhile. If he can unlock an O2, I'm sure he can unlock at at&t handset.

Like Brandon said, for some reason the O2 ones seem to take a *lot* longer than the AT&T ones. I guess it's due to the fact that it is an international carrier, and they probably have a local US contact who generates the ones for AT&T.

In any event, my 8300 has still not been unlocked. My evil plan of having one before anybody else has obviously been foiled, since AT&T is releasing them today... Even though it wasn't working, I was still toting it around here in DC, and it did get noticed... so I suppose it wasn't all that bad.

I will probably end up picking one up from AT&T today (if I can), and will package this one up and either eBay it, wait for the unlock code and then Craigslist it locally, or try to see if the seller will let me return it.

Had I known it would be this difficult, I probably would've waited for AT&T.

T-Mobile USA , Cingular & AT&T Blackberrys I always get back those codes sameday, unless something like a holiday or network failure screws things up for me.

There are other people selling a similar service on ebay but some of them I am doing the codes for, so you might as well just cut out the middle man

So what is the rate to get an 8300 unlocked? And what form of payment do you take? (Sorry never have unlocked a phone before)..

Thanks
