Is there a feature on the BB that will automatically lock your keyboard without having to go into Keyboard Lock icon at a certain time that you indicate?

There is no setting like that on the BB.

Check the aftermarket software forum. There is an "AutoLock" application that does just that but I'm not sure if it's compatible with the 8703e.

There is one under Security but you have to set a password for unlocking the keybord everytime.

I set mine up to lock when I put it in the holster. I also re-configured the middle browser key to be the keyboard lock. I use the lock a lot more than I use the browser.
