Default Can't hear anything

Please Login to Remove!

I am unable to hear anything on my phone when I receive/dial a call.
If i switch to speakerphone, it works.

Anyone know if I have some setting I need to change or if this is a bug?

I already popped the battery, but no change.

Last week, all my SMS messages just disappeared from my inbox (not sure if this is a related issue)

any feedback is appreaciated.

thx

I am not sure that this will help ... but have you possibly tried during a call pressing the menu key and making sure your phone isn't turning mute on??? Again, I would think if mute was on, speakphone wouldn't work, but it is worth a shot. If it is still not working, just call the helpdesk.

I had the same problem after having my Pearl about 5 months. I called t mobile and she had me do a full wipe and everything on the hand held.

Either the speaker in the ear piece blew, or there is a wire short somewhere. The only way to fix this is to return the handset to your carrier and get a new one through the warranty. Good luck!

I checked to see if it was on mute and it wasn't.

I called help desk and they have asked me to a complete re-install of the software.

I'll give this a shot and see what happens...

I think this is the case. the BB help desk as T-Mo said they would replace it if a re-install of the software didn't work out.

One Question I have is that when you get a new handset, will everything from your old one transfer over.... like the add-on Apps, settings, Address Book, messages, pics, etc.?

You will have to connect to your desktop manager and do a backup before you send your phone back to tmo. Then when your new one arrives, connect the new one to Destop Manager, then do a restore with the same file, then all of your messages, options, etc. will be restored onto your new device.

If the speaker is dead and you're out of warranty I just posted a link for a company that sells speakers (ear and loudspeaker).

TMobile will send you a post paid box (UPS) for you to send your phone back when they send you the replacement. I had it sent 2 day shipping, so for those 2 days I had to use the speakerphone on all calls, then when I recieved the new phone, it worked fine.

You're going to pay $9 for regular shipping (4-7 business days) or $15 for express 2 day shipping. I think it's worth the extra $6.

I've been advise to update the firmware. Which is hard when i'm running a later version than I was advised to update to.

The speakerphone works, the phone rings but I just cant hear a thing.
