Default Curve resets when visiting certain websites?

Please Login to Remove!

hey everyone! i have yet another question. my curve (updated to the latest at&t version) will sometimes reset when i visit certain websites. its happened to me several times this week and i got the phone on tuesday. the first time it happened i went to a site, had it reset, then went back to the site and it did it again. sorry, i cant recall the site..i think i did a wipe after that to clean the plate a bit to narrow things down. today i was looking for info on a canon a410 DC and i visited some site and it reset again. this there something i can check on or change a certain setting to prevent this? browser settings are all default. i hate when this thing restarts, cause it takes like 5 minutes to come back up. any ideas? i did a quick search and came up with nothing/too much. thanks in advance!

Not sure why that happens. My 8700 will do that on some sites when it can't make a connection. The screen goes white. I am not sure if that is what is happening to yours or not. I don't let the screen stay white, I hold down the escape key until the unit goes back to the home screen. Good Luck!

Wirelessly posted (BlackBerry8300/4.2.2 Profile/MIDP-2.0 Configuration/CLDC-1.1 VendorID/102 UP.Link/6.3.1.17.06.3.1.17.0)

What happens is that the site will basically look like its loading and the only white I see is when my curve is starting back up

That happened to me a few times with the cingular OS installed. Now that I am using the o2 OS I have not seen it happen.

Is that when it takes 5 minutes to restart, while the screen is white? That's when I hold the escape key down until the home screen pops back up. Maybe 5 seconds at most.

it takes the exact amount of time to show the home screen when it "resets" as it does when i pull the battery. as far as running another os on it, what are the risks in that? will that void warranty? my phone is still locked if that makes any difference. which one do you suggest? this doesnt happen all the time, but when it does its rather annoying.

It was very annoying. Now with the o2 OS it hasnt happened at all.

Installing the OS is easy. Delete the vendor.xml file on your PC, install the OS on you PC, sync, install it on the unit. Took less then an hour. If its ever an issue with the warranty it will be equally easy to reinstall the cingular OS.

hey! i have a question...how long did it take to complete the last initialization before it restores device data? my curve has been sitting at the white hourglass screen for awhile now waiting to re-connect to the computer

edit: ok, its all good...it takes awhile as it turns out...all is well

I tried the new youtube site for mobiles http://m.youtube.com on the html browser and i got in but when trying to watch a video I got an error message saying "A problem occured while trying to render the page". Then I tried the site through the wap browser and it showed up nicely but when trying to watch a video the curve rebooted.
