Why is the damn media player sooooo slooow to open an album or when you click shuffle all songs. I only have 30 sonds loaded on my 4GB card (which also took soooo long to copy). I mean its not a dedicated mp3 player I know that and luckly the music doens't skip, but wow.... This is crap, anyone serious music enthusiast should definetly not consider this thing an ipod replacement. I'm so annoyed with it, I spend a bunch of cash on this phone, than on the memory card wait for it to all get here and its shit. RIM get your crap together and optimize the software, put a faster CPU and USE A FASTER MEMORY CARD than microSD.... You wanna do music and mutimedia than do it for real and stop kidding yourselfs with this sorry ass excuse for a media device. And what's with the memory limit without a memory card... Is this 1992? Seriously dissapointed and quite disgusted....

I use my Blackberry as a replacement for my iPod since I now leave my iPod in my glove compartment hooked up through a special cable to my car stereo. It doesn't seem sluggish or slow to me at all. It does take a long time to copy songs to your MicroSD card though and that's just no fun.

I used experience slight lagging when in the media option but that stopped after I upgraded the OS. I have over 3GB of music on my 4GB MicroSD card and it loads very quickly when I go into media/music.

When it comes to loading your music I do find it slower when I use the device in mass storage mode. Now I just use a card reader to transfer my music to my BlackBerry as it's so much faster.

You don't have a 10-15 second lag/delay when trying to open an album?!? I would have expected that with 4GB of music, but with 160MB its slower then hell... I have a second curve sitting in a box near by and I'm gonna try it on that one to but I really doubt its a defect with this unit.

yea i am noticing the same exact issue with my music player as it lags terribly whenever i am trying to shuffle thru different songs.. the scrolling is very slow.

will an upgrade in the OS do the trick? I am still running on the regular OS from Cingular out the box.

I notice the lag as well when opening through the media player. I'm running v4.2.2.89 (Platform 2.4.0.42)

I also have a song that will not show up, unless I go in to media, press the menu key and explore.

I'm running the 4.2.2.222 Optus OS and I have had no issues with my Media Player. Since I've purchased a 4GB MicroSDHC for it my BlackBerry has completely replaced my iPod mini.

is the Optus OS for all Curve owners or only for Rogers network? Just trying to understand this before I make any drastic changes or what not.
