Default Need an honest answer

Newbie alert!

I am interested in purchasing a refurbed 8700c from Cingular for the sole purpose of syncing my work and home Outlook calenders and for the phone. But I cannot get a straight answer about needing a data plan. So, my question is:

Do I need a data plan just to sync calenders, or can I do this via the sync cable and desktop software?

Thank you in advance.

You do NOT need a data plan to sync with outlook....

Enjoy

He's right. If you use a sync cable, you should be good to go.

Default One last question

Does the BB take a special SIM or will a SIM card from a regular Samsung phone work in the BB?

I currently have 3 phones with 3 different people on my rate plan and will be using one of their upgrades to get the BB but still want to use my number.

Thanks again for enduring my questions.

any sim card will work so long as the phone is locked to the same carrier as the sim, or the phone is unlocked (which would mean that any sim card, regardless of carrier, will work with the phone.

and yes i'll confirm it again, you can sync it without a data plan. :]
