Im on AT&T running the release that was posted in the first post of this thera. 4.2.1.164. It runs great. No more dropped calls. And I can actually dial letters without duplicating them. Awesome stuff. The ONLY problem I had was that the voicemail access number was not automatically entered for me. No biggie though, because you can just enter it. Just go into your voicemail options and find what your access number is before you upgrade, if you decide to go 164.

b13,
There is no need to quadruple post your same question all over the forum. Please post your question only once.
Yes, doing the update will get back all that you may have lost.
Good luck!

Telefonica Spain is now up to the same revision as Austria. Here is the link if you are interested.

What, are you checking all of the carriers every day to see if 4.2.2 has been released?
I've been doing the same thing. Like you, I'm dying to have A2DP.

OS supports bluetooth stereo upgrade?
Am wondering if this new OS enables bluetooth stereo technology for 8100. I know its already available on the 8800. I could not pair the Motorola S9 wireless stereo headset. Any ideas? Thanks for any info!

Incorrect, only the 8830 (CDMA) and 8820 (in UK so far) have A2DP but the TMO and AT&T base 8800 does not yet support A2DP. They are waiting for 4.2.2 to come out just like us Pearl users.
On that note, I have the S9s paired up just fine with my device but it only works for phone calls and mono with Dollar5 mediaplayer. Not much use to me as a mono device.

Exactly what I am doing....you and I seem to consistently obsessing over the same things based on previous posts and threads we have both been on. Between the two of us and everyone else that doesn't want to admit to geeking out over the A2DP I am sure we have coverage to know the second this OS upgrade comes out. Although some announcement or indication from RIM about 4.2.2 would be nice other than posting it as a fix for stereo bluetooth in the KB.
I worry that it will come out but won't enable A2DP...won't we be ticked off waisting all this time searching for it and then not to have A2DP....aaaarrrrrggggghhhh!!!

Thanks SIB, I agree, it simple IS better. I, too, was able to use the phone function w/the S9. You offer hope though...is there an upgrade coming to support A2DP for the Pearl???

Install went perfectly. Thanx for the great instructions. If you can get a non-techie like myself through this process, thats saying something.
I'd like to go for the 4GB card but I thought I remember reading on this forum (quite a few times actually) that the 4GB issue was a hardware issue. Now some seem to be implying that they have 4GB working after upgrading the OS. Can someone clarify once and for all. Will upgrading ensure that the 4GB will work or will it be hit or miss (depending on where telephone was manufactured).
Thanx in advance for any replies.

8100 on T-Mo with 4.2.1.101 (on BES)
I have upgraded from 4.2.1.96, and everything seems to work perfectly except for the following:
When lengthy emails are received where "more is available," I get the following error:
More request cannot be completed. Service book information not available"
I have contacted T-Mo and they have re-sent the service book. I have also re-registered within HRT.
Neither seems to solve the problem.
Any suggestions?

I'm having alot of issues with my new computer and blackberry desktop manager. It's not recognizing my pearl anymore. My computer sure does but my desktop manager says nothing is connected. I'm confused, Does it need a vista patch or something of that sort?

Be sure you are running the latest version of desktop manager which is compatible with Vista. Go here and select Desktop Software version 4.2, service pack 2. https://www.blackberry.com/Downloads...93E4F3BB068C22
