Angry Charging 7250... not normal

Please Login to Remove!

How long does it take to fully charge a 7250? I don't even think it's charging it period. There may be something wrong because I have it plugged into my computer and I haven't seen the % rise in awhile.. it keeps going down... 35%, 30% and now 25%.

Hmm...didn't it come with a charger? Methinks you're using the sync cable to try to charge it.

The sync cable is the way to chaarge the 7250.

Make sure that your desktop manager is open and says connected. In the Desktop manager, click Options and Connection Settings. Make sure that your 7250 is detected.

OK, I am using the Sync cable to use it. But there are a few things. I plugged it in at about 11 o clock last night and it was at 25%. I woke up at 8:30 this morning and its only at 75%. Does it really take more than 10 hours(estimate) to fully charge?! That seems crazy! My old cell phone could charge in no more than an hour. Second... from some reason, my computer does not read the Berry despite it being plugged in. I downloaded the Desktop Manage software from the BlackBerry site but im not sure if thats what i need. Is there a driver i need?

Are you using a laptop computer? I believe that I saw a thread that mentioned having to turn on your USB port to make it charge properly. I use a desktop and it doesn't take my 7250 very long to come to a full charge from 55%. What happens when you open the Desktop Manager and go to Options, Connection Settings and click on Detect?

Which version of the Desktop Manager do you have? The latest version is 4.0.1.10 April 27, 2005. It updates the USB Driver, among other things. You can get it at https://www.blackberry.com/Downloads...c0a8392d557cTR
. Good Luck!

Don't rule out the possibility of a bad cable.

Also, try another USB port on your computer.

The 7250 that I have came with a charger and the sync cable. I have noticed that it charges faster with the charger than with the sync cable. You may want to consider getting a charger (about $25 http://store.bizshopr.com/7250.html) so you can charge without having to rely on sync-ing with the computer.

Thanks, I figured that also... But even so, how come my computer is not even recognizing the BB? I installed the latest desktop manager software form the BlackBerry site and everything. My cables work fine (i use them regularly with the sony psp and they never gave me a problem). Are BBs even compatible with Windows ME?! Im going psycho here and seems like my options are running out and it may need to be replaced...

According to RIM the Desktop 4.0 is compatible with Windows ME. http://www.blackberry.com/products/s...rsion4_0.shtml

You may also want to take a look at the "Handheld cannot be detected" page on the RIM support site for trouble shooting ideas http://www.blackberry.com/knowledgec...94889&vernum=3
