Default help with 8700c

Hell.
I've been reading through the forum but i cant find an answer to my question. I've bought unlocked blackberry and it is due to arrive in the mail. T-mobile here in Macedonia does not offer data packages but just plain GPRS and EDGE that can be used by everyone who has GPRS compatible phone.
My question is how to set up the blackberry to work on GPRS and EDGE without the data plan and will I be able to push the email from my exchange server to my blackberry or i will have to create separate POP3 accounts on my blackberry? Your help is really appreciated.

Look at Opera Mini. I think that will help you. You'll need to be sure and configure APN in TCP settings.

I was waiting for someone able to give more complete info than I, and maybe someone will. But search on opera mini and I think you will be on your way to solution

Good luck. Welcome to BBF!

You won't get push email without a BB data plan though.

I missed your email question in original post. As said above, you won't have any of the BIS services without a *blackberry* data plan. As far as I know, you will be limited to what can be done with the aftermarket browser.

I'll put this out to the group, is hosted BES a potential option for the OP, or would he need the blackberry data plan through carrier in the first place for that?

Unhappy Data Plan necessary

On AT & T you have to get a specific BB data plan which is unlimited and actually cheaper than the data plan for treo and other smart phones. Without the bb data plan, nothing works. 8700c is an AT&T/Cingular based phone. Good luck getting it to work without a plan.
