Unhappy USB device not recognised

Please Login to Remove!

I am no longer able to synchronise my Pearl with Outlook because my computer is not recognising it. Have tried reinstalling the software but still no go. Any solutions?

Does the same USB port recognize other USB devices? Have you tried the Pearl on another port? How about another PC?

Does the charge indicator show when the phone is connected?

I'm assuming you tried a battery pull.

If none of the above work, you may need to do an OS reinstall or wipe with JL_Cmder.

Red face Thanks Spectral

Thanks Spectral. Thought I might have to do this but wasn't sure how. I have tried the Pearl on other PCs - same result. Also done the battery pull etc. I changed my SIM card and this is where I think the problem started.

I will use the commander and see how I get on. Again thanks for getting back to me.

Default Blackberry USB device not recognised

Well I've searched the web, installed and re-installed the software a million times, removed the battery etc but to no avail. My PC will still not recognise my Pearl even though it did for weeks. My device manager tells me there are no drivers present. Can't use jl cmder either to wipe the device because duh "I don't have a connection".

This appears to be a relatively common problem. Does anyone know how to correct it? Its driving me balmy

By any chance did you try a different usb cable? Honesltly it sounds like there is a hardware problem rather than a software problem. The computer would acknowledge the device was there, regardless of the state of onboard drivers. It would just tell you that you were SOL.

Try a different cable or try that cable with another usb device. It is possible that the port on your BB has jsut gone kaput.

I got this problem and here how I fixed it:

1) Unplug your device with USB
2) Restart your PC
3) Re-install RIM-OS-PACKAGE. For example, if you upgrade your BB to tmo 103, launch the 8100_v4.2.1.103.exe file. It will tell you remove it and then re-install it
4) Restart your PC
5) Connect your BB to USB
6) Launch the DM.

It worked for me. So I hope it will work for you. Good luck.

P/S: I did not have to re-install OS on my BB.
