Hi

I am thinking of getting a pearl. I currently have a 7100 phone and I like having a smaller phone/pda comaprred to the traditional larger full qwerty phones. However, I am concerned how will selecting things on the menu with the track ball, selecting the option, canceling, etc be done. Is it too tiny?

DO you have a problem selecting and typing because the buttons are so close?

I am debating between the pearl and curve. Any thoughts?

never had a prob, tho it does take a while to get used to it, i still find myself going for the trackwheel

Can't speak for the Curve... but I love the Pearl.

Keys are relatively large for being (sort of) QWERTY device,
and the scrollball itself is a wonderful technology and works incredibly well.

Responsive, and IMO it if it were any bigger, I wouldn't be able to blaze through the menus, options, and whatever else I use the trackball for as well, or as quick.

I held off on getting a BB just due to the side trackwheel. When the trackball came, it was a no brainer

Thanks for the response. Do you ever catch yourself typing the wrong button? Or having problem hitting the back button, or select when using the trackball?

no mistakes on trackball. You can set the speed/sensitivity to your comfort level. qwerty? dont worry about it I got used to it and i cant even type on a full keyboard. Get the pearl its worth it!

I love the pearl and it will honestly take you a hour max to get use to the trackball. Just set your sensitivity and everything will be ok for you.

Agreed. The speed/sensitivity options are a blessing.

The only time I can say I ever mishit keys or wrong buttons (e.g. menu/esc/delete) is when I get into hyperspeed texting, whilst using many applications at once. But that's always a common problem with my phone habits
