Hi,

I bought a Curve which is unlocked and not branded to any network. Basically I will be taking this to the US and using Tmobiles flexiplan thing so I can have unlimited data. What I am wondering about is it worth upgrading the OS seeing as I have to use the O2 on as there isn't one that works with Tmobile yet?

I am currently running version 4.2.2.114 of the OS.

So far, O2 is the only one that gets us US T-Mobile users the standard two T-Mobile browsers.

Opera works very well on the Curve as an alternative browser - your only limitation will be that it doesn't do OTA installations. If that's not an issue for you, you can use any other OS version - you just won't get the standard T-Mobile BB browsers.

Ok thanks for the info. So what would the benifits be from upgrading my current OS to the latest? What benefits would I see?

I just went from .114 to the latest Voda/Chinese one. But I'm on T-Mobile UK so the browser issues didn't apply.

Not noticed any real differences. Just upgrade if you 'like to upgrade' as there should hopefully be more bugs fixed than bugs introduced. And if it's new, you should have the option for a quick exchange if it all goes pear shaped as it's so new. You just say 'it's stopped working already'...

Also, you can always downgrade once you're in the US if you need to...

In able for you to use the browser, you need to downgrade to O2. But if your like me who doesn't really use the browser, then install the newest OS Smartone Vodafone or the Vodafone Egypt.

Note: You can use Opera Mini as an alternative browser, but you can't download anything OTA.
