Default Got a new replacement 8100 but...

Please Login to Remove!

Now I can not tether to my laptop anymore.

I check SanFrancisco post about connecting to the Internet using the 8100 and doesn't seem like I have to make any changes to the phone. I try typing in wap.voicestream.com under TCP under APN but that didn't do the trick. So I deleted it.

Can anyone help me out?

I got "error 692 There was a hardware failure in the modem (or other connecting device."

You might want to try removing all the 'Standard modem' entries, uninstalling the BBDM and then reinstalling it and setting up from scratch.

I have noticed that errors like the one you are getting are usually driver related so maybe start with that.

That's what I am thinking of doing next.

It seems like it doesn't recognize the new phone and looking for the old phone but the Desktop Manager seems like it does recognize the new phone.

But first, I know other people had problems before so I guess I have to do a search here and see...

I keep you updated...

ok... an update...

I try to solve the problem and I look at some of the old posts of people who have similar problems like I do.

So I try to fix it but it still does not work.

I finally decided to uninstall and remove Desktop Manager and remove the Dail Up Internet Connection that I created for my other Blackberry.

Than I reinstall everything and set up the dial up Internet connection all over again.

It finally works but I have to dial it twice for it to work.

I think the reason I was experiencing problems is the program is looking for the old phone and does not recognize the new phone even though the program seems like it does recognize the new phone.
