You can't load this OS to the curve but think you can use the themes.

4.2.2 is very doubtful for the 8800, since 4.3 is on the horizon for October time frame. Some posters have reported carriers are running 4.3 through QA right now.

Tweaking the lbs.alx gets BBMaps working (not GPS.) GPS works along with BBMaps.

@spade, what isn't working? Are you trying to use BBMaps, Google Maps, etc.?

Yes, I misspoke...editing the lbs.alx enables BBMaps, not really GPS. But it makes GPS useful without having to pay for Telenav. The newest Google Maps also uses GPS, but since I edited my lbs.alx before downloading Google Maps, I already had a working GPS application in BBMaps. Confusing, I know. (See, I was tired, glad I waited to upgrade.)

Occasionally I find Google Maps having trouble with pulling a signal, in a place that usually doesn't cause a problem (indoors usually does cause a problem). I've found that going to Options > Advanced Options > GPS and choosing "Refresh GPS" from the menu will seem to get it working again.

So let me get this straight .. it allows you to display chinese characters on the 8800 when you receive a Chinese txt msg? Is that correct? Also ... are you able to type in Chinese on the en-US 8800 qwerty ? I am kinda new to this ... Thanks.

Default Why cant i see other themes? 8820

Hi, ive flashed many Pearls before, but now my boss has a 8820 and he wants the vodafone theme on it. No problem, you'd think!

ive flashed it loads with lots of different vendors, but the blighter keeps coming back with only the 3 default dimension themes!

what am i doing wrong, ive removed the vendor.xml file, but im thinking its something to do with the blackberry.alx file, any help wud be appreciated.

So you load the 8800 OS to the 8800?
Second, if you want all the themes, you need to edit the blackberry.alx files.
