Hi

I have a customer who wants to archive several SMS messages received onto their BB8800. I am familiar with SMS Logging via the BES, however this messages have already been received therefore turning on SMS logging on the BES won't help this problem

What they want to do is be able to store
a) Date/Time the message was received
b) Who the sender of the message was
c) what the content of the message was

Any way of getting this off the device?

It should be in the SMS logs. The BlackBerry should of uploaded everything when you enabled the logging. If not try remove the user from BES, Add user to BES, perform EA. It should upload to BES.

ok I'll do some more tests and see what happens - I hadn't noticed that behaviour however when I first turned on logging..

There is a product that archives SMS and PIN messages from the BES.There are two components to the product: an agent on the bes and a viewer you can install on your desktop.

You will be able to see Subject, date, time who sent it or who it was sent from.
And you will be able to see the actual text message too.

You can't see this from your blackberry, you have to look at the stuff from your desktop.

MitchBB - I saw that product at WES and it seemed quite useful for those customers that really need to focus on this kind of auditiing.
