Default PRL Update on a 8830

Please Login to Remove!

On other phones I have owned I was able to update the PRL and verify the update. Can the PRL be updated on the 8830, and is there a place to see what PRL is in effect. on this phone. I am on the Verizon network.

I do a *22899 on all the Verizon phones/Blackberry's in my house and also have anyone at the office on VZW do it each month also just to update the PRL. It's actually set as a calender reminder on the 15th of each month to do so.

Default *22899=bad

I saw that you use *22899.....

This is asking for trouble. I have been told that that was not meant for phones. It will go through but may cause problems. My previous Treo had major issues after I tried that.

Welcome to BlackBerry Forums. However...

I call BS on this. *228 is the correct procedure for requesting a PRL update. Done it on dozens of phones. I think you are alone in this one.

^^^ Yeah, *22899 is just a shortcut to option 2 (the 99 part). BTW, Treos have major issues.... period.

^^^ Yeah, it's just the Palm based ones though. Had a user with nothing but stability and wiping problems on 2 700p's. Changed to a 700wx and hasn't had a single problem, even loves the activesync with Exchange better then the VersaMail BS on the Palm based ones. The Palm OS just blows...
