Default Switched from 8700 to 8320 on TMo, now getting weird confirmation emails

Please Login to Remove!

Can anyone help? I'm a mac user so didn't do a migration. I just popped the SIM in, set up the theme the way I like, etc. Sent the service books, and all my email accounts seemed to be there.

Now, when I send an email, I get these odd confirmation emails.

Also, I no longer seem to have access to BIS at the tmobile site. It tells me to use the service on my handheld.

Can anyone help??

Thanks,
TM

What are the "odd confirmation emails?"

Also, "sent the service books?" Can you elaborate? How did you do that? Did you do it from the device using the "setup internet email" icon?

Thanks. I'd long since done the filter process required for gmail (thanks though).

The confirmation email subject is:

Delivered: [subject line of original message]

The body is:

Your message was delivered to the recipient.Original-Message-ID:2005857662
Final-Recipient:anthonymoody@yahoo.com
Action:Delivered

Strange. I'm going to dig around in the menus for something to "confirm delivery" or "return receipt" or something. I don't remember it in the 8700, and it seems odd to me that something like that would come set to enabled out of the box. But what do I know?

Re: sending the service books, I did it on the BB. When I used the set up wizard on the 8320, it found my accounts. But just to be sure, I also told it to send the service books (which it did).

All seems to be working except the delivery confirmation emails...

Holy smokes - there it was - in the email settings in the messaging application - a checkbox next to "Confirm Delivery" - and it was checked (for all my accounts). Oy. THe other 2 options (confirm read, and send read receipts) were unchecked.

Totally weird. So I unchecked those and now all seems fine.

ANOTHER QUESTION (which I have your attention): I don't get attachments. Was getting them fine on my 8700, and get them fine on my desktop email program, but messages come to BB w/o them. And yes, I have Blackberry Attachment Services installed (4.2.2.), I checked (after doing a search! )

Any thoughts?

FWIW, I can now access the TMO BIS site again. I'm going to resend the service books (again) to see if perhaps the Attachment service book comes through...

Since you said you are using a Mac, I assume you're using the Mail app to send e-mail? I actually had (well, still have) the same problem. I wason the phone with T-Mobile CS for about an hour trying to figure it out and through experimentation, I determined it's from some kind of incompatibility between the BB and e-mails sent using the OSX Mail app. If you send an e-mail with an attachment from a web-based client (i.e. www.gmail.com), the BB gets the attachment fine.

My guess is that it's something to do with the recent BIS 2.4 upgrade and how it recognizes mail sent from the OSX Mail app.

Holy CRAP. You're absolutely right. I do use mail.app on the mac. And I was in fact sending the emails from my mac to test. So I tried from gmail on the web and you're absolutely right.

HFS HFS HFS HFS this is TERRIBLE!!! Weird though - I don't recall it having happened on my 8700 (I only switched this evening).

Oh man. Looks like it's time to call RIM.

Yeah, I was just as surprised. Felt kinda sorry for the CS guy that was helping me. Tried every single thing in the book until I finally realized the problem.

And a little FYI, this problem also occurs when an e-mail with an attachment is sent from the iPhone. Which does make sense. Hopefully RIM can fix this soon.
