Question Swapping my Pearl?

Please Login to Remove!

I had my first Pearl almost a year before the screen went out, in the last two weeks, I've had 4 refurbished pearls sent to me and I sent them all back because none of them functioned properly. My question is, does anyone know if T-Mobile will just let me swap my phone for a different model or will they just keep sending me the same thing until I finally get one that works? I love my pearl (that is when it worked) but this is really pissing me off now...

At the very least, I'd pitch a fit with T-Mo for repeatedly sending you refurbed phones in the first place. Is there a reason why they won't replace your Pearl with a NEW model?

But since you've already gone through four phones, I'd use that as my justification to trade up to either a non-refurb 8800 or an 8320. Either way, good luck!

Or at least figure out WHY you are going through phones at an alarming rate.

I know at ATT if you get four replacement phone thst do not work properly they will replace with different model and in many cases a store manager can replace the unit with one brand new out of store stock. Don't know if tmo will do the same!

Hopefully this isn't caused by the user

The fist one they sent me would randomly shut off every 15 min or so and the last 3 they sent me, had memory issues like you would not believe. It what take about 5 min for the phone to boot after being shut down with the off button, 10 min after a battery pull. Every time I pushed a key, an hourglass would pop up and my phone would freeze! I could not believe that the same thing was happening over and over.... If i got a phone call, it would ring, but I could not answer it because the hourglass would not disappear. I had no extra software on any of the devices and I removed all the stuff that I don't use.

Seems like TMo is really giving you the shaft. Why dont you go to the store and try your luck there?

I'm currently on the phone with a rep right now and she told me that since I keep having the same problem they will most likely offer me a different model and I'm just waiting for a bb rep now. If they can't help me then I will go to a t-mobile store tomorrow.

they offered you an 8800, but won't offer you a NEW 8100? seems odd, as the 8800 is priced higher than the 8100.

I told him the same thing and he said that thats all he could do. I got pissed and hung up the phone, I'm gonna call back again, I just need to cool off because I really don't want to go off on anyone, even though I should!

Well at least they offered you a new BB of some sort -- that's a definite improvement over the refurbs.

Maybe you'll have better luck with the next rep you speak with. GO TEAM 8320!!! ;)
