hi, first time here. i've been a frequent visitor of site. two questions

1. i was following instructions on how to use JL_Cmder and it says to plug phone into usb, do not open desktop manager then remove battery and try wiping. if i remove battery nothing happens and when i return it, the phone powers on like nothing was messed with.

so i decided to leave battery in and do a wipe

2. after the wipe the phone remained off with a steady red light on and it never rebooted, am i supposed to continue waiting for it to reboot while it's plugged into usb? because i disconnected and attempted to turn on then it gave me the 507 screen, was this right or should i have left it connected to usb with steady red light?

The Wipe using the JL_Cmder will remove the OS. That is why you receive the 507 message. You will need to reload the OS on to the BlackBerry:

that is because after you use JL_CMDER It completely removes software from device and you need to reload operating system until you do so all you will get is blank screen and redlight
