Default Video, 8320 and battery life

I soon will be flying to Europe and plan on viewing movies on my 8320. I would guess some members have already done this.
How did the battery hold up?
Does security frown on spare batteries?

Never had an issue carrying spare batteries in my computer bag. IMO, battery life on the 8320 is so-so. I don't know that the battery would hold all the way to Europe, but with all the radios off you may do ok.

I haven't tested mine to see how long it lasts for video yet.

I did purchase the OEM sized extended battery from Seidio. I haven't tried it yet as I want to get some time with the original so I have an idea whether or not it's better. They claim 15% more battery life. They also have a large extended battery that might just be the ticket for those long trips to Europe. If you haven't seen them check them out here:

JC, thanks for the reply. I would hate to have two extra batteries confiscated by airport security. After your reply I decided to purchase two extra batteries, instead of one. One from Seidio and one BB branded. I was thinking of placing the batteries in my checked luggage but perhaps carrying it with my camera will be OK.

Which battery did you buy from Seidio? If I were to purchase two, I'd purchase the big one with the new door and the oem sized ext. one from them. I used a Seidio ext battery and door on my Pearl since Seidio came out with it and it always worked flawlessly. I loved it.

JC, I keep the 8320 in the sleve case and carry it in my pocket. I don't want a thicker battery so I purchaserd the 1300(normal thickness) battery from Seidio. I"ve been using it for about a week. I am not particularly impressed. Their price, I believe, is high and their shipping cost is (again, I believe) is also higher than it should be. Perhaps the Seidio battery will have a longer life span; will see.
I found BB brand 1100 for much less money. Iam starting to believe in the real world, there is little difference, except price.

Seidio is reputable (pricey but rerputable.) 1300mah vs 1100mah has to increase battery life some. It's just not a whole lot.

If you compare the stock 8320 CS-2 1100mah battery and the Seidio 1300mah battery, the Seidio battery is definitely thicker than the stock one. I can tell by placing them side by side and also the battery door fits tighter with the Seidio battery. So, to say that there is little difference except price is not accurate. I'm going to cycle the stock battery a few more times to get a good idea of what it's capable of and then I'll switch to the Seido.
