Default BB8830 and Motorola S9 Headphones

Please Login to Remove!

Hi,

Has anyone used the BB 8830 with Motorola's S9 Bluetooth Stereo Headphones? If so can you please let me know how the sound quality is with MP3's.

Thanks

Sound quality is excellent - just as good as wired. The only complaint I have about the S9 is that when you take a call it only plays through the left earbud by design. Some people prefer this - either way, all in all a great pair of headphones.

Default So...

So your saying the S9 does not working while playing videos then?
If that is true and it does not send the audio through the headset then what was Motorola thinking??

Correct. There is no stereo bluetoot support for videos just yet. Only music.

Default S9 cutting out when worn on belt?

I just bought the S9 and it cuts in and out when I wear it on my belt. The manual shows the optimal area is around one's chest. This seems pretty unrealistic. Anyone else have this problem?

The only problem I have w/ the S9s is on my curve 8300. I know I'm in the wrong forum, but I cant get any answers on the 8300 forum, and I'm hoping Mr. Clark would be so kind as to address this.

The curve has a distorted high pitch treble breakup sound during music playback. iTouch and iPod not so much. Everything else I've used the S9s with has been spectacular. Pair it with the 8300 and it sounds like poo poo.

as an update to my ealier complaint about the S9, it seems the problem is only when I'm outside. When I'm outside and where the phone on my belt, the audio cuts in and out. When I'm inside, and wearing it the same way, I don't have a problem.

Does anyone have any theories on this?

YES. I have the same issue. I think it has to do with interference from the magnet on the holster. If I am wearing a shirt pocket then I will put it in there and everything is fine.

Ultimately though I think RIM has to improve the B/T drivers on the 8830. If I remember correctly this version of the BB device software is the first release with A2DP support aka b/t stereo headsets. So I am assuming that anything 1st release is going to be less than perfect.

I don't think it's the magnet in the holster. I use it the same while in the house as I do outside, in the holster, on my belt. It works inside, but doesn't work well outside.

Since first posting, I've seen posts on other sites with this same complaint on other devices.
