Default Calendar Software

I have a new 8320 curve. The calendar that comes standard with the 8320 is modeled on MS-Outlook. The style I prefer is the MS-works Calendar. My reasons are in the month view presentation. I have a lot of multi day (all day) projects. The "works" calendar will present the projects as continuous bars across multiple days and these bars can have edited text on them that makes for a very intuitive quick look presentation. The "outlook" calendar just uses bold date numbers on days of activity, but does not show how and which days are related to a project Any one have suggestions on selecting an aftermarket calendar program to load into the BB Curve? --Dan--

I think you will not find a suitable calendar application replacement for the BlackBerry. And since there is probably little demand for one, I think you're probably going to have to get used to the options the native app provides, or find another phone. The "Weekly view" doesn't give you the multi-day bars you want, but it does shade those days and present a caption at the bottom. Perhaps you could get used to that?

I've grown accustomed to switching between daily view, agenda view, weekly view and monthly view, according to what I'm trying to get done with the calendar. Good luck!

I'll do a little more work with the calendar and check the weekly view. I still would prefer a monthly view with the multi day projects displayed with a connecting bar style. Maybe I'll send a note to BB-Rim about this. TNX. --Dan--

I miss 2 (and ONLY 2) things from my Treos. Threaded SMS messaging. The Treo was the gold standard for that. The other was replacement calendar options. I used one that gave me a week-at-a-glance view like a paper datebook. I'd go for that in a heartbeat, but I don't think RIM will allow aftermarket apps that replace the BB's core functions.
