Default WiFi Questions

Please Login to Remove!

I have just started using an AT&T 8820.

I have the WiFi grqphic showing up blue, so it is working and connected. How do I know if I am using EDGE or WiFi. In the browser I see "WiFi Hotspot Logon" When I do this I get a "connected to the internet message". If I choose a bookmark, somtimes the EDGE shows and sometimes the WifFI shows. Which on is being used if WiFi is connected.

On the WiFi facts page is shows:
Will my regular Push email work on the WiFi without getting a BlackBerry Data Plan?
* You must have a Data Plan (BIS or BES service) to get Push email.

OK, I have a data plan, so is BES pushing thru EDGE or WiFI?

I have Sametime Chat and BeeHive, are they using EDGE or WiFi?

Just trying to understand when Wifi is being used when it is available.

Thanks!

If it shows WIFI then you're using WiFi ... its that simple.

So when I browse the internet, why do I sometimes get WiFi and sometimes it says EDGE. It swings back and forth as I sit in one location. I am not sure WiFi does much of anything on AT&T except allow me to browse faster and even then it will have WiFi available and it appears to use EDGE.
