First of all, I am not a BES admin, but a project manager tasked with upgrading Exchange 2003 SP1 to SP2, so assume I know nothing. I have been told that in order to ensure continuation of the Blackberry 4.0.4.6 service (30 VIP blackberry users on an unsupported, non-resilient BES server, great huh!), we need to upgrade the BES server software to work with Exchange 2003 SP2.

I suspect when we come to perform the Exchange 2003 SP2 upgrade from SP1 on the cluster, at that point, we need to upgrade the BES 4.0.4.6 components on the BES server so that the service will still work.

1. What is the recommended revision of BES software that will work with Exchange 2003 SP2. We are currently running 4.0.4.6

2. Is there an install guide available for this upgrade, so that our engineers can do the work (we do not support Blackberry for them, so we have no in house expertise)

3. Does Exchange 2003 SP2 or any Exchange component need to be installed or upgraded on the BES server itself, or do we just install the BES software?

4. Seeing as we are on BES 4.0.4.6, do we need to upgrade to Version 4.1 or later at all? or will our existing system work when we upgrade the Exchange 2003 servers to SP2
