ok...i just want to make sure...i just got a new 8310...why couldn't it support up to 6GB?

did someone here bought a 6GB and put it and it doesn't work? or cuz one of those cingular so called "tech rep" said so. if they said..i won't trust them...they say anything to get rid of a customer and they are paid less than minimum wage. i wont trust a god damn word they say.

so when i get my 6GB..im gonna see if it works or now.

I believe the Curve series will support up to 32 GB but it will require OS updates to recognize larger cards

I have a 6GB Card and it doesn't work. The Curve doesn't show up in mass storage mode on the computer and once you load more than 2 GB of data on it via a card reader the Curve stops recognizing it. I would love to find out otherwise, but as of now mine is sitting in a drawer until OS 4.3 comes out.

Report back and let us know if you get more than 2GB worth of data on it.

My 6gb Sandisk will not work in the Curve 8310 (and it was working fine in my Tilt). Sometimes it can't find the card; other times it formats but then fails. 4gb works just fine.

I have the 8320 and I am not able to get the 6 gig Sandisk to work. the 4 gig works perfectly fine. When I put the 6 gig in, format it and it only reads 1.6 gigs. I would love to see it work for me too... since I bought 2.

I bought two b/c I read where someone had it working.

Duckworth... if you format your card does the storage change from 5.6 gigs to 1.6 gigs?

I did a little more troubleshooting with mine and this happened to both cards....

I insert the card and the 8320 see the card fine. (as 6 gb)
I plug the bb into my computer with media manager and notice the dick drive in windows "disk management" shows that drive as "blackberry" and its only 1.6 gb. I unplugged my phone and looked at the card options and it still says 5.6gb free. I format the card within the bb options and it changes the size to 1.6gb.

I used an external USB card reader to look at the SD card and it is a 6 gig card but now had a 1.6 gb partition called Blackberry. I have no idea how to delete this partition in windows. (Windows will not allow you to change or create partitions on removable drives.)

Yes, that is what happens. I used the Panasonic SDFormatter utility to re-format it back to the full 6 GB.
