Default Frustrated...why is it on Verizon, Only 8703e seems to have no major Gripes?

I would love the pearl on Verizon, but it seems that everyone loves their 8703e and then you get all these problems mentioned with the new devices....it sometimes feels like its better to buy the last model of the old tech since the bugs are worked out at that point, then to risk the early new models. Thoughts?

Well.............. The 8703e is Rock Solid!! Full key pad, and the battery life is tremendous.

The Pearl is obviously smaller, and has more media friendly enhancements, so it's up to you, to make the call. I guess it depends on what you plan to do with it. My 8703e is a work horse, durable and works great. Don't really give a darn about multimedia stuff, when I can fire-up a lap-top and do it all off an air-card!

Happy Turkey Day!

Well good news is that other carriers have the pearl out so many of the problems should be a quick fix as there is already a plethora of knowledge about the pearl and its bugs

I agree with you ez. I just got the vzw pearl for my wife. The enhanced knowledge base gave me confidence to purchase it.

i recently purchased a used 8703e to use as a starter blackberry. i have a ne2 credit coming in mid december and i wanted to make sure i would like how rim handles everything. i'm planning on getting a pearl, so i've been scanning the 8100 board here. i don't feel that there are many gripes, just a fair amount of people who don't know how to use what they've just purchased.

I also use the VZ 8703e for work. I think the reception is tremendous my only gripe is it doesn't is the lack of GPS.

2kflhr>>> I guess I'm lucky, since I have a navigation system in my truck. I think it would be very hard to find a more solid Blackberry over the 8703e. Like you stated; great reception, battery life, form-factor, display, and durable as hell...........

8703E is durable, I dropped it a couple of times by accident and it keeps on work, just like the Energizer bunny.
