Default 8100 Battery Life

Please Login to Remove!

I think I must have been spoilt with my 7290, I had it for a yeah and only charged it once every 10 days or so. I used to turn it off at night around 11 and then back on around 7'ish.

I am finding with my 8100 its needing to be charged every 3-4 days. I dont use it for calls at all. I have changed the backlight down to 10 and turned off auto backlight as well, any other tips?

One thing is to use a magnetised holder/sleeve so the Pearl goes into standby. This is supposed to conserve battery life, although by how much I don't know!

Yep, I use that when I am out and about, I will make a point of using that more. I have noticed as soon as you put it in there all the lights go out.

Anyone know if ColorPearl would effect the battery life?

I charge my battery every two days. I use email and internet hard, with moderate phone calls. I just charge it up at my desk at work every other morining. I generally use it from 7:00-7:00. It goes to sleep from 9pm-5am. If I am going to be out late one night, I just charge it up a little in the evening. I am happy with that. I love my pearl. Best phone/smart phone I ever had.

10 Days?! I'd say spoiled. I'm happy to only charge my pearl once every three days. I suppose I don't do many safari's or take the Pearl backpacking, but I find myself near an outlet, or a car charger, or even my laptop at least once every three days.

I guess I just need to keep an eye on the battery! I am sat in front of a laptop all day so being able to charge it is not a problem.

Anyone know if you can get a desktop holder for the 8100?

Yep. I just searched the sponsors page until I found one I liked. I ended up with a little black foldable style holder that holds the 8100 upright...Cost a little less than $20 I think.

I have found, that if I sit my 8100 on top of my slip case it puts it into power save mode as well, so I have been doing this while it is on my desk and so far it really helps. I am down to charging my battery every 5-6 days now.

5-6 days? Wow. I get 2 solid days (moderate phone and email and heavy internet usage).

You guys are fotunate! I usually have to charge my Pearl every night. I use the phone a lot (3,000+ min/mo) and during the week get at least 100 emails a day. Plus all the calendar and task updates that flow back and forth from my Company's enterprise server it gets quite a workout.

WoW! That is a power user for real! You should check this product out: 1250MAH SLIM EXTENDED BATTERY FOR 8100 - *BACY13BB8100G02-BK

Might give you a little more time without charging.

About 2 days, lots of texting and web browsing.
over 30 minutes talk time.
If you play around with the settings as far as having the backlit screen up for 10 seconds instead of 1min or 30 seconds, it might help.
oh and adjusting your auto on/off. i have mine shut off @ midnight and on again at 6am.
