ok, so i got my new (used) pearl in the mail last night and messed with it some. i got opera mini on it. i only have the medianet 200 package.

besides the problems i was having with vista and device manager, i need to know what kind of IM software i can put on and how. yahoo says data plan not accepted or something. google maps wont let me download.

am i just doing something wrong.

also can teh 8100c be used as a modem or jsut the 8130

Do you have a data plan? First things first....you'll need a data plan. 2nd, look into getting Jivetalk. It's the best im program I've witnessed for the blackberry. And the 8100 can be used as a modem even though I've never gotten around to doing that myself.

i have the interent, however i am running into the problem were opera mini tries to open bb browser for teh download... i think. i have no browser configuration service book entries. that is what i need to konw how to fix

That's because you don't have a "Blackberry" data plan on it. Call AT&T and swap the medianet 200 for a "Blackberry" plan and all will work as it should.
