Is TTY Support same as PTT? (Under Application -> Phone -> TTY support)
I am also trying to remove PTT?

No TTY is for communications with devices used by the deaf. I would guess it could be removed, also.
You can not just delete PTT, do a search on how to do it. It does use a good bit of memory
Also you did use the setup wizard to get rid of all languages except english?

Yes, all languages are removed except Korean Font Module.
I do have quite a bit of 3rd party software that I am removing now.
I only had 5.4MB free. Now I'm up to 10MB.

The Curve is not loaded with memory. You will need to decide what you really use and keep that and dump the rest. If you need that much and even more, the 8820 has way more memory!

would future OS 4.3 upgrade improve the lag time and performance on 8310?
Greg, is it true that 8300 will perform faster than 8310? In my initial testing it seems faster.

Sorry, how do I check for memory usage?
Are we talking about "File Free" and "File Total"?
My 8320 says 10016968 Bytes / 52953088 Bytes
Geez... any way to shorten that to MiB or put in some thousands-commas?

As RIM is quite aware of this problem, I would bet money that they will fix this problem and a few others in 4.3 plus give us one heck of alot of new features!

10,016,968 or 10mb free
Try pulling your battery for 15-30 seconds and see how much it changes.

So why don't I see same issue on similar 8300 model?
I think 8300 seems to be faster and with better battery life.
Is it b/c of non GPS chipset?

4.3 should fix a few problems and give us new features. Only time will tell. As far as the 8300 being faster, I have no idea. I use both the 8310 and 8820. I am currently using the 8820 which is still my recent favorite. Long battery life and more memory than you and most will need.
The memory leak is not that big of a deal if you just reboot once a week. Everyone needs to look at what they have installed on their device, what they need and what they really use. I would rather have a Blackberry that worked without flaw than a bloated Blackberry that is so full of crappy poorly written software that is hardly even runs anymore! <vbg>

Maybe my 8310 is a fluke...but I have more than a handful of apps loaded on my phone, and I am still at over 24mb of free space left. Would I prefer more...you betcha. But, I haven't experience the memory leak that many have on this one, or did I on my previous 8300.
I'm pretty picky about the apps I load though...and try not to add anything I don't use almost every day. So far so good...
Knock on wood...

But why should I reboot my phone everyday?? Rim needs to look at their java code a little more closely and fix this. Java has built in memory management features that seem to be corrupt in some OS's. Re booting is not a normal function i want to perform everyday..... Rim needs to have the phone do itself. I mean it is a 500 dollar phone.....

Rebooting every day is nonsense...and is not needed. It won't hurt anything, naturally...but aside from making you feel like you are "doing something", it serves no purpose that I can see.
Rebooting every week makes sense in that it "cleans" junk from the system...and also allows your provider (AT&T, T-Mo, etc.), and RIM the opportunity to send you information OTA that will make your device run up to snuff. I think every GSM mobile device would benefit from this practice.

If it was that serious it would be openly and publicly announce to do so or a software feature. Again java has this feature built into it already

My compression is on, and I am losing emails/SMS. I had Opera Mini installed, so I uninstalled that, and cleared my event logs and turned them off. From reading the thread, it seems like Opera Mini was the most likely cause, but my guess is that several applications can cause the data loss. Maybe it is a certain function in the code of these programs (like the way they handle the devices memory) that is causing the leak?

I don't know if I have a bum Curve, but the only 3rd party doftware I even have is Telenav. All my media is on the card, I deleted the sample video, etc. I deleted PTT using Javaloader. I can't find the languages under advanced options, so I'm thinking they weren't there to begin with. I set my media device space to 0MB. Yet after all of that, I have
file free: 10,663,504
10MB?!?!?!? Where is all of my memory going? I don't even have any 3rd party apps. This is so frustrating.

Anyone have an update on this issue? Kind of annoying having to deal with deleted messages all the time. I don't even have many 3rd party apps.. default browser.. Google maps, Viigo, and Jivetalk. Nothing else.
The Blackberry site has long acknowledged the problem but has yet to offer any solution except for a battery pull:

I've only had my curve a week. Just to clarify, is this the reason why my curve is restarting itself randomly? It's happened several times that I've seen, and I suspect it's happening at night too as when I wake up my jivetalk app is no longer logged on.
