Angry Can't open attachments-sometimes

Please Login to Remove!

Help please. My immediate supervisor and Pres. of our company uses a BB Pearl 8100 on a T-mobile address. He insists there is something wrong with ME because when I send an e-mail with an attachment, .pdf or other, he receives it on his PC or laptop but he insists it is nowhere to be found on his BB. Furthermore he says that when his children or others send an attachment file via their Apple or PC, I use both, he has no problem. I have to believe the problem is in the receiving end not in the sending. I attach either using the menu attach (paper clip) command, or direct from any program as a "Send to mail recipient." Can someone please help me. In all honesty this is affecting my position.

Do you have your own blackberry to send to as a test?

If you are indeed sending an attachment that the blackberry can open and display, as an attachment, then I don't know what the problem would be.

he says he doesn't receive it at all. Could it be hidden as an icon somewhere?

Does he not get the email at all, or he gets the email but without the attachment?

If he is opening the email with the native email application, he will see [1 Attachment] or [2 Attachments] etc at the top of the text in the email body.

I don't know about other email applications.

FYI, the email can show an attachment and it be something that the blackberry cannot open. In that case, "open attachment" will not show in the menu.

For our viewers at home, I was able to open the test pdf attachment you sent me.

If your boss is getting attachments from others, as he says, then I don't know why he's not getting yours. Is there perhaps something in the system your emails transit that is stripping the attachments?

Attachment handeling as far as my expierience goes sucks on blackberrys.

Now to the specifics.. are you using BIS or BES?

We use a 3rd party app called notifylink. Requied to vew attachemts on their service you have use Eviewer, (eword, excel, epdf, ejpg, etc..) I can usually view word docs. Excel docs, depends.. seen incorrect values in cells, epdf rarely works, and ejpg viewr usually works.

Based on my rather limited expierience trying to veiw attachments id say, if thats a deal breaker look else where.
