JabpLite - free personal finance software
Please Login to Remove!
Hi,
Just wanted to let you know that I recently tested my personal finance software JabpLite on an 8800 and it works well. JabpLite is 100% freeware, and includes multiple accounts, categories, investments, currencies, standing orders (aka scheduled transactions), net worth calculation, future balance prediction, and much more. A sister program JabpFile provides import/export capability to external memory card including the ability to read/write QIF files.
Enjoy the program
Best regards,
Malcolm

You can download the JabpLite.jar file directly from http://www.freepoc.org/download/midp2/JabpLite.jar
If you want to use JabpFile (import, export, backup etc) then you'll need to use the desktop manager to install that program - it can't be done OTA.
Best regards,
Malcolm

JabpLite has its own icon. JabpFile uses the default.

seems most of your apps are for devices other than Blackberry. It would be nice if some of the others made to over to the BB side of the street! such as battleship, and diabetesMon!

This is the first thing I have tried to download and I don't have a clue what I am doing. I am synced to my phone and I downloaded it. When I pull up media manager it is not in there, but when I pull up my regular my documents from my start button, it is there. How do I get it to media manager to put on my phone? I hate to be sooooooooo stupid, but this is all new to me and I don't have a clue what I am doing............
thanks,
Lisa Jane

You might be using version 1.37. Version 1.38 is now available from Welcome to Freepoc

Also when I click on Jabpfile I get an error. A java uncaught exception error.
|
Ah, this was a problem in earlier versions when running on Blackberry devices. Please download and install version 1.38.

Malcolm

Download JabpLite138.zip from Welcome to Freepoc. Extract JabpLite.alx and JabpLite.cod from the zip and place in a suitable directory on your PC. Open Blackberry Desktop Manager and choose Application Loader. Navigate to the file JabpLite.alx and select Install.
This should install JabpLite and create a new icon.
Best regards,
Malcolm

Hi,
Thanks for the feedback. I probably could find a better icon at some point.
In relation to the display compared to the P900 screenshots, perhaps you mean the size of the font on the BB? Go to Extra Options>Preferences and set the font size to Small. Let me know if you like it any better that way. Other than that, the display works the same way on the BB as on the P900 (and actually any other cellphone).
About syncing with a PC: depends what you mean. To backup your data to PC, use the Export Data option in JabpFile then copy JabpLite.dat from memory card to PC. To export data into MS Money (for example), you have to use the Export QIF function in JabpFile. Alternatively, you can use the free software Jabp which runs on a PC and imports data directly from JabpLite.
Hope this helps.
Best regards,
Malcolm

Application Loader should be one of the options when you run Blackberry Desktop Manager.

Hi,
I replaced the icon with a transparent one. Please download and install version 1.38 again. Tell me if the new icon works better (it does for me!).
Best regards,
Malcolm

Malcolm,
Is there a way to sort transactions by date? I will often schedule direct payments a week or two in advance, and I can't find a way to resort the transactions.
Thanks for a great program!

The transactions are auto-sorted in the Transaction View with the most recent date at the top of the page. There's currently no way to reverse-sort the entries.

No need to install the jad file. The alx and cod files should be fine to use with Desktop Manager. Not sure how to help with your 'no additional applications found' message. I think I've seen this sort of message reported before elsewhere in these forums, I don't think it is specific to JabpLite. Try searching these forums for possible solutions.
Best regards,
Malcolm
