Default Volume problem

Please Login to Remove!

I recently bought a blackberry pearl, it works great, and i love it. The only thing that is really pissing me off about it, is the volume on it. I can't hear my speakerphone very well, and my volume on my music is pretty damn low at maximum volume........is there a way to increase the maximum volume on it?

Welcome to the forums.

While your language isn't considered "vulgar" it is a little abrasive and inappropriate, especially for a first post.

There's not much can be done about the volume except to turn it up to it's maximum. You can use louder ringtones and make sure your ringtones are set to the highest level. As far as music volume, the BB is made to use headphones. There is also a setting in the options for the media player that will increase the volume. Look in Media >Music >Options....

Go to the main screen of the Media Player, where you select Music, Video, Pictures, etc., > Options > Audio Boost.

Actually, what worked for me with the Pearl was to buy a new battery cover--the one that comes with it seems to cover the speaker--one of the first things I did was to buy that(it costs about 14.00 if I recall)....the best thing I did for my Pearl. I still couldn't listen to it sans headphone, but as someone said, it's not designed to be listened to without it. That said, I can hear it better with the new battery cover than w/o it.

Merry Christmas.

Oh yea, could be OS version differences, if you don't show that option.

There isn't a 4.2.2 for the 8100.
This is the latest version available for the 8100, here:
http://www.blackberryforums.com/gene...ilanguage.html

The audio boost might be on that version, too, i don't know.

Maybe another user will let us know.

Yeah, sorry about that. My bad. It's in OS 4.2.2 and above. It's been so long now since I've used a 4.2.1 device....

You can't load an 8130 OS on to an 8100. Totally different devices. 4.3 should be coming out for the Pearl in a month or two. Just give it some time.
