Default 8130 - Dialing Question

Please Login to Remove!

How do I get rid of the sound the phone makes when I'm dialing a phone number? I can't figure out. This is my first BlackBerry.

Thanks!

Unless you select the Quiet profile, I don't believe you can mute the keys when you dial.

You can go to 'options' and select 'screen/keyboard' scroll down to 'key tone' and toggle to off

That doesn't work...mine is set to Off and the key tones still sound unless you choose the Quiet (or Vibrate) profile.

Default Those directions SHOULD work

To quiet my key tones, even in Loud mode, I do Options > Screen/Keyboard > Key tones = Off > Menu Key > Save. And it works every time. Not sure why it's not working for you. Are you sure you're saving the changed settings?

I mean when dialing a number not just using the phone.

On the 8130 Pearl, I can confirm that you can't turn off key tones when dialing numbers...however, if you enter a combination of keys that corresponds to a name in your address book, the keytones will silence after the first or second keypress (as soon as the Pearl recognizes a potential name match). So dialing by name is quieter than dialing by number. (I'm on the .71 Sprint release, but it was the same on the Verizon .60 and Telus .65 releases.)

I have the Screen/Keyboard "Key Tone" setting on "off" - it has been at that setting since I first got my phone.

Short of setting the Profile to Quiet or Vibrate, you'll always get at least one keytone...
