I got a quick question.... with PIN messaging do I need to have a Blackberry Data Plan? or can I just use a generic non-blackberry plan?

Also are there any other software that can do PIN messaging as opposed to BB Messenger.

In order to use PIN messaging you have to be on the Blackberry network, i.e. BIS or BES. Currently there are not any additional 3rd party programs for PIN; BB Messenger is it.

you can compose a pin just like an SMS or email. you dont have to use BB messenger. just go into messages > menu > compose PIN

yea, I tried that too, all I get is a a picture of the clock on the side, the status is pending and thats it, it doesnt send the message. dont get a check mark or a red x.

As the other posters above stated, you must have a blackberry data plan. Not the generic data plan from the carrier, but the *blackberry* plan.

What Sith was saying is you can send PIN's from the message folder as well. BB Messenger is just a chat implementation of PIN messaging. But still need a blackberry data plan either way.
