The pics of the Curve's make it tempting. I saw an 8800 series and didn't care for it. The only thing keeping me from doing it is that I got a red Curve...seems a waste to do it to a red Curve.

I was thinking it was going to be 3 weeks max.... I was kind of hoping the 3 week quote was a "worst case scenario" kind of thing. The company is so small though, as of last year they only had 30 employees! I think that with all the corporate stuff they are doing, they might want to expand. Anyone want to loan me a blackberry? Im getting desperate!!!

I just emailed them about painting a new casing (front, back, sides) instead of sending in my berry. Hopefully they will do that.

I may go with the Candy Apple, but Hybrid and Techno are a close second. The agony!!

I would like to see their response to that. I asked about sending in my BB along with a spare battery door and the answer I got was, no they will only do the original parts and the blackberry must be sent in. I am still on the fence until I see a live one.

the curves are perfect for colorware treatment.
the black keys on the 8800s just dont quite allow the front of the phone to be anything but black i think.

does that mean its some kind of blue kel?

I asked them if I could send in a whole new case and they told me 'absolutely not'. I don't understand why they wouldn't especially when all the parts will be there and painted except the electronics... or maybe are they doing something illegal (like cloning?) with our phones?? <-- just a speculation and I mean no harm.

I'll wait till the new red casing comes out, or till another company comes around.

They probably don't want you reselling colored parts. Just a thought. They do a lot of other consumer electronics besides phones, so i doubt they are doing anything fishy over there. They sound pretty in love with their proprietary coating technology.

That sounds right... but what would stop me from reselling the phone? If I was a reseller, this would be an excellent way to increase sales.

Like I said... I don't intend any harm to them and I'm not trying to start a harmful false rumor... I just think something isn't right. Maybe by voicing this view out, maybe more and more people will request to keep their electronics and paint the new cases bought else where (cnn.cn). Or maybe they start selling cases?
