I took a microsd card out of the BB and put it into a blank compatible SD card to insert into my laptop. My laptop won't detect thus won't read this card. But my BB will read a separate microsd from my laptop. Is the reason why the laptop won't read is because it was originally formatted in the BB?

What is the fix here because I want to be able to use the same microsd in both devices?

Are you using encryption on the SD card?
On your device, what's it say for Options > Media Card > Encryption Mode:

Yes, currently I can read my phone through the USB cable to my laptop.

If I take the encryption feature is already set to NONE.

What do I need to do now?

Does your microSD have the letters HC on it?? If so you have to have a high capacity reader on your laptop.

My SD card is HC, that is why my laptop can't read it.
I used this Microsoft update to fix it and it worked.

The HC (High Capacity) cards need an update or a newer card reader. Glad you got it fixed.

Okay I read somewhere that a 12 GB card has been released. Do you think it would mess up my BB Pearl 8130? Or would it just not read all of the files? I would really like an all in one device. Anyone used the 12 GB yet?
