Default Desktop e-mail account

Please Login to Remove!

I bought my device second had from a person who used it under a BES account. Nothing is restricted to my knowledge and the BB works great. My question is about the desktop e-mail account that the former owner had set up. Is there a way to delete it, or create my own? I tried to delete it through the "set up internet e-mail", but it didn't recognize it. It only recognizes the my @tmo.blackberry.net address, which is the only address i currently have loaded into the device. a little help please? i do apologize for the ignorance, but learning steadily.

thanks!!

desktop email account??

Are you still receiving the previous owners emails?

Go to the options>advanced options>service books

Delete all of them except the provisioning one which won't delete, then go on your bis account, and go to service books, and send them out.

If that doesn't work, it will need to be connected to the BES and have the account deleted and the IT policy updated.

If you are getting personal email on the BB for the former owner via BIS, contact that person and have them delete their BIS account with their carrier.

If it is coming via BES, then you need to remove all IT policies and delete the BES service books as previously mentioned.

Check out the FAQ for "Buying a used BB on ebay". That will give you some good info. Also look at the section on removing IT Policies.
