Default BB Messenger Help

Please Login to Remove!

Hey guys, I just got a blackberry last weekend and I cant figure out the BB messenger. My friend has a blackberry as well and she is new to it also, I have read that it works by PINS. So we give each others PINS and go to Add A Contact in the BB messenger. Now it says Pending add request, but the only thing is that neither of us got the add request from each but they both say Pending. I dont know what to do.

You're sure you added by PIN? If you just click on your address book contact it will default to email. When you add the contact and it takes you to your address book you need to hit the menu key and it will allow you to add using PIN. Did you do it that way?

Is there a way to add a new contact w/o having to add them to the address book? I like to add random people to my messenger but I don't necessarily want them in my address book. I probably have to suck it up

Yes, do the same thing and when it takes you to the address book scroll to [use once], hit the menu key and select add using PIN.

You didn't follow the instructions. Please don't click on [use once]. Highlight it and hit the menu key. Then you'll have the choice.

No, doesn't have to be the same carrier.

Can you send your friend a PIN message?

Sounds to me like there is an issue with one of your data plans. Can you send yourself a pin message?

I would say it's on your friends end. They have to have a BB data plan. Also, if they are on a BES then it's possible that their BES restricts outside devices from sending pin messages, etc.
