Ok, odd item that first happened the other day right after I had some minor surgery, so I thought it was the Meds that did it but it happened again and I can replicate it now over and over.

When I was listening to voice mail I set, and I mean literally set, the phone down on the counter and the screen goes black, the light goes pure Red for about 2 minutes, it looks like it restarted or is restarting, but it comes back to the voice mail screen, but no sound occurs during any of this, and then hangs up and acts as though nothing had happened.

Now I took it to Verizon to show them, and they would gladly give me a new phone, but I would rather not go through the pain in the Arse that that is again being I just got this unit not 3 weeks ago.

Any idea what this is or has any one else had this happen?

I recently had my 8830 replaced. Every once in a while when I would set it down on my desk at work or on a table, it would reboot. Not every time, just once in a while.

I had the same problem. They replaced it and the new one is fine. Make sure you do a backup and then wipe the old one before giving it to them.

My 8830 will reboot on a very rare occasion, you could try updating the OS.

What 3rd party applications you got?
