Default BB Pro Config Help

Please Login to Remove!

OK, I installed exchange, got my MX records working.

I installed the pro software, sent out an activation email, and I got it, enter the password on my 8130 and it just stays on activating...

The only thing I changed from the defaults was, as I have limited port forwarding available (we're a small organization, and use a linksys firewall) I changed the webserver listen ports to 6008 & 6609 -- it wasn't working with it set to default anyway.

Should I try it on port 80?

No dice on Port 80

I tried changing the SRP port, nothing.

Set your SRP Port back to 3101 and try these 2 tests to ensure that the firewall is properly configured:

1. Locate the BBSRPTest and run it from a DOS prompt

2. Try this from a DOS prompt: telnet srp.na.blackberry.net 3101

If both of these pass then your firewall is ok. Then I wold look at the account used to install and manage the BES. Did you create the BESAdmin account? If not and you are using the domain admin account then I would use this article to create and switch to the BESAdmin account:

Here is a good KB for troubleshooting Enterprise Activation:

Hope this helps.

You don't need to modify a linksys firewall out of the box to make it work with BES. BES needs NO incoming ports open.

You are correct. The problem was too simple to believe.

Verizon had me on the wrong data plan.
