Default BES Email Issue

Please Login to Remove!

Guys/Gals,

I have one question. I receive all emails on my device correctly and I have set the Blackberry to delete emails from the device as well as the mailbox and it works fine.

My problem is that, if I am working in Outlook, and I create a subfolder in my inbox and move the email to the appropriate folder, it sometimes leaves the message in the Blackberry Inbox. Therefore, if I delete it from my Blackberry inbox, it deletes the message out of the subfolder in the inbox.

Is there a setting that I may have missed that would help with this issue?

Thanks.

You could set your handheld to prompt you to delete on either Handheld, Mailbox or both.

Thinking about it more - it is odd that it's deleting it from the subfolders within your inbox in Outlook.

It is my understanding that once the item leaves your Outlook inbox into a subfolder, the BB loses track of it and is not sure what to do with it. Interesting.

if you do a "reconcile now," does the message get removed from your Messages folder? Do you have the subfolders included in the redirection?

Do you have "Hide Filed Messages" set to 'yes'?

I just did a test move of messages to folders directly beneath my inbox and at the same level as my inbox. I had the folders included in the redirection.

- the messages moved immediately if I did a "reconcile now"
- the messages moved after the BES scanned exchange for changes.

Hide Filed Messages option fixed the problem. Thanks.

The only thing now is I have chosen all folders underneath my Mailbox/inbox but they still do not show up on the Blackberry. Is there a service that needs to be restarted to make that take affect?

Old messages won't show up - only new ones.

Can you please tell me how to do this? I have the Pearl with Verizon. Thanks!

You don't have an icon on your Pearl that says 'Messages' ?!

You're on BES, right? You might want to speak to your BES admin.
They probably need to resend service books to your device.

You should certainly have that option if your email is properly configured with BES.
