Default When MUST I go to BES

Please Login to Remove!

IS there a paractical limit to the number of users I can allow to use Blackberry Internet Connection before the overhead becomes excessive and BES is really mandated????

There is no reason to HAVE to go to BES. BES makes it easier to administer all those devices, though.

I'll move this to the BES Admin forum and you can get their thoughts.

moving to BES admin section. Welcome to the forums.

Also, it really depends on what you want to use. BES has some fantastic features that BIS does not have. If you just need email and dont need the organizer sync or the IT policies then it really can depend. Do you have your own in house email server? do you know the cost/prerequisites of the BES? lots of questions besides the one you have asked. We will need more info to help you

Provided you run your own mail server then I normally say 5 devices - trying to manage that via BIS can become a headache, and the additional end-user and IT benefits you get via BES make it definately worthwhile..

With BPS you can get 5 free CALs, so really your cost is some hardware to run BES on and then the increased monthly cost. For me the functionality of GAL Lookup alone is worth the exta $20 or so..

try managing 55 BB's on BIS :| it sucks haha...id say if your company will allow the funding, has exchange, groupwise, or notes, or will purchase and switch to one of them and can take advantage of it...id say it would be worth looking into...like Sith said, if they only need the email portion, then it may be not worth investing in a BES yet...till you find more of a need...
