Default A2DP support for 8800

Please Login to Remove!

From what I read, A2DP bluetooth profile is not supported until v4.2.2 and the current latest for 8800 is 4.2.1.179. Does anyone know when this support is planned? IS there a RIM roadmap anywhere?

You won't likely see 4.2.2 for the 8800. It'll likely jump to 4.3.1 in a month or two (we hope.)

Thanks. Any workarounds to get A2DP? Hands-free driving laws are here and I would like a dual purpose headphone/headset rather than just getting the phone quality. OR are there any good OBEX value headphones?

There is no OBEX profile on the BB and there is no workaround for A2DP until OS 4.2.2 or higher. It's coming--just a matter of when.

woo! i don't know what else 4.3 will do but i'm super psyched! thus far, i've only been able to use it with my headset and for dial up networking. all good things but i'd like to see more use out of bluetooth on such a great device. Any thoughts on where we can learn more about 4.3's feature list?

hmm. i have 8820, my os version is 4.2.2.160 and am using Plantronics Pulsar 590A. and for full support on this headsett you need A2DP and AVRCP. and i can use all this on my 8820.

the 8800 OS isn't as up to date as the 8820.
