Default What R these mystery folders?

Please Login to Remove!

One of my users approached me 2day and showed me that when he is in the Messages app and chooses View Folders, there are a bunch of strange subfolders of his Inbox named: net6_vvm. We have different models, but I checked mine and lo and behold I have them as well!??! Yet these do not appear when I look at my mailbox using the desktop client (Outlook 2003).

NE1?

When you collapse the tree for the entire mailbox, do the folders show up underneath the mailbox? Similar to the SMS Inbox, SMS Outbox etc folders

No, they're subfolder of the Inbox only. I've searched everywhere and can't figure out what this is.

So far the solution seems to be: wipe the handheld, remove user from BES and then do Enterprise Activation again.

Prior to the drastic step mentioned previously - I connected the handheld and performed a message synchronisation/reconcile using Desktop Manager. This has removed the multiple occurrences of nt6_vvm and I now only have one inside the Inbox folder.

That did not help - the net6_vvm folders keep multiplying

How many devices is this occurring on? All or just two? Have there been any new add-ons to the mail server, BES or new programs setup on the devices? You could delete the folders, remove the user and all preexisting info for the user on the BES then recreate the user/reactivate the blackberry.

This is happening alot on mine and about three others but the others don't seem to accumulate the net6_vvm folder as much as mine. There have been no recent changes and I don't seem to be able to delete the folders - at least not from the handheld - when I did the desktop reconciliation - they were cleaned up - but continue to return. I have since checked the logs on the BES and I'm getting lots of errors for my mailbox:

MAPIMailbox::SetFolderState - CreateMessage (0x80040102) failed
LoadFolderList Could not save Folder State. FolderID=-2932
Could not Update Folder State. TagId=791756

At first I thought the errors were occurring because of the mystery folders but after watching them for awhile I think every time these errors occur I get a new net6_vvm folder added.

So, I going to wipe, remove from BES and reactivate. That seems to be the most reasonable thing to do now.

Are you using some kind of integrated Voice Messaging system with Exchange, or any other third-party Exchange applications?
