Default Device OS upgrade is hit and miss

Please Login to Remove!

I searched the forum and found closed thread that matches exactly my problem:

Anyone seen this before?

I'm trying to upgrade some devices via my workstation BES Blackberry Manager (BES and Manager 4.1.4).
For some devices everything works fine.

I'm not getting the "Select a software configuration screen" after selecting Load Handheld.
It seems to only do the following real quick :

Device Load Initiated
Device Load Completed
The device software was succesfully updated (Translated from french)
Provisioning device
Provisionning completed

It doesnt seem to be the USB connection (I get the device info correctly)
It doesnt seem to be model related (Some 7250 work some don't, some 8700 work, some don't)
So far, only already activated devices don't work, but some already activated device work!

I assume you have each model OS loaded onto that workstation?

Well that's the thing. I did remove vendor.xml file and it works for some and not for other. It seems that if I lets say take new 8700 and hook it up, then all is working. I select Software configuration for 8700, OK and 30 min later it is done. If I take 8700 that is already assigned ti someone( activated) then it just goes thorugh following very quickly:

Device Load Initiated
Device Load Completed
The device software was succesfully updated (Translated from french)
Provisioning device
Provisionning completed

Weird...

Those OS software configurations are sitting on the BES and loading it through the Blackberry Manager on the workstation.

What happens if you choose Load Handheld(Interactive)?

I've had this happen before. Sometimes, disconnecting the device and trying again helped, and othertimes, my solution was to nuke the device and start from scratch. Not ideal, but since it was my device, I didn't care.

I never use BlackBerry Manager to do OS or software install. I always use the Desktop Manager.
