I am telling you from experience with three blackberrys. Two in past two days. Go a head and purchase from nextel. I spent three hours on the phone today with nextel trying to get a second hand BB working in the end we had to right it off as a loss. Second one purchased from ebay in two weeks that was bad. Went to nextel store bought a brand new one with in 30 minutes was up and running all software running flawlessly. Just some experienced advice take it or leave it.

when u say bad... whats usually wrong with them?

keys didnt work on one never could get the others to work at all service center couldnt either. They had no clue what was wrong with them. wouldnt work with the desktop mananger wouldnt accept pin messages couldnt do anything with them all were wiped clean looked brand new no scrathes blimishes or anything. We didnt have ins on the phones so we couldnt get replacements

can u put nextel's ins on the BB after you purchase it second hand?

Thats a good question I dont think they would put it on a unit that couldnt be activated on their system

If Nextel is like Verizon (ha) they were willing to insure mine which I bought from soomeone on e-bay as long as I did it within the 15 day period after I activated it.

I am glad you are having so much luck. I hope it continues for you in the future. I didnt say all were bad I just said I wouldnt take the chance on one.
