Unhappy Sometimes can't delete single occurrence of recurring appointment

Please Login to Remove!

I'm running 4.2.2.170 on my Curve (AT&T). I'm using BIS, and will sync calendar appointments from my Outlook (2003) to my BB (one direction only).

Normally, if I need to delete a single occurrence of a recurring appointment on my BB, it works fine. I highlight the appointment on the calendar, push the DEL button, select "Delete this occurrence", and all is cool.

However, a few times, I have found that if I try to do this, it actually deletes the entire series. I watched carefully the last time to make sure I did not accidentally select the wrong menu item. I had to re-download the appointment series from Outlook.

Does anyone know why this happens? Has anyone else seen this? It is frustrating.

This same thing just started happening to me too (8100 though). Im not exactly sure what is going on when this happens because it is not all of the time - sometimes (most of the time actually) I can delete an occurrence with out the entire series deleting.

Default Deleting appointments problem and what I did to fix it.

Ok so I had recurring appointment deletion problems too. I hooked up the crackberry to the computer and opened desktop manager. Reset my configuration to the default. Then sync'ed my outlook calendar. Did change anything. Tried to delete on the phone again and got the same message that it was externally deleted, window will close.... or something like that.

Next I removed the battery. Let it sit for 30 seconds then put the battery back in. This soft reboot worked believe it or not. All those pesky recurring appointments that I have been trying to delete were gone. Got one cleaned up good looking (and more importantly accurate) calendar.

Good luck all. I hope this works for you too.
