Hi, I have BB 8310 and I'm still not sure how email attachments (word docs) etc are handled. If I receive an email with a word doc attached, I want to be able to save this attached doc to a folder for reference later. I can't seem to find a way to do this, is this right. I realise that I can save the email it was attached to, but this doesn't help organise things it just stops the email from disappearing from BB after a certain amount of time.
I wouldve thought it would be possible to organise files into folders and view them in some sort of file explorer.
Any help would be much appreciated.
Thanks

no you cannot save an attachment just yet... wait for the new OS 4.5 to come out and you will be able to save it to the memory card...

Thanks Cory Scheuer
When does OS 4.5 come out and how do you upgrade to that?
(And any risks of doing so)
Will you then be able to view the files on the memory card?

no date yet for the OS 4.5 release... rumor has it sometime in the next 1-2 months... hopefully... there is no risk to upgrading your OS, read on the blackberryFAQ for more info on upgrading your OS, its rather easy...

If you want something now, rather than waiting for the OS upgrade - BeamBerry is a 3rd party app that allows you to save various document types to both your SD card, and externally to their server. It also serves as a pretty good document viewer, including PDF's. It's not cheap, but it has always worked well for me!

even if I had $1million I don't think I'd buy most of the apps that are out there...

It wasn't an assumption - it was a statement! A question was aked, and I made a suggestion that sounds like it would meet their needs. Last time I checked, that is exactly what this forum is based on, and all about - people having the ability to ask questions and receive solutions / suggestions without fear of ridicule! But by the looks of this conversation, maybe that is changing.....

I am 46, and have a family that "wants" for very little - but to be honest, what I or anybody else makes is absolutely none of your business!! Be very careful bragging about your income, in todays economy and labor situation - things can change very quickly. Then, maybe "not cheap" will have a different definition to you!

Well, as the OP of this thread, I'm interested (not) to see that approx 80% of the posts are completely useless to me. I don't really give a toss about anyones salary and a don't suspect that you will about mine. Thanks to those that supplied some useful information, I shall now unsubscribe from this thread.
Thanks

no offense man but your barking up the wrong tree. maybe in good ol ALABAMA there is an economy and labor situation but i live right outside New York City. The cost of living out here is a lot higher here and the job field is a million times bigger than ALABAMA! I pay more for gas a week then most of the blackberry apps are worth. Also at no point in time did i ask what you or anyone else makes. now i wasnt bragging about my income and frankly any adult with a 4 yr degree will start atleast 50,000K/yr. to be honest my job is prolly one of the most secure jobs out there. i am an IT tech. i do web design and server maintenance. so as long as the internet runs, my job is secure.

so you think i am bragging, thats your opinion.. my opinion is your just jealous. so if you dont like my opinions then learn to keep yours to yourself.
